In a Spirit of Caring Revisited, Understanding and finding meaning in the doctor/patient relationship in the 21st century is ready for your Kindle, iPad, NOOK, and Sony Reader!

"A 'Best Book' for dentists and team members to help them provide exceptional, rewarding care for their dental patients.

"It is a book for new and veteran practitioners seeking a more fulfilling, rewarding way of practicing dentistry. It will help readers discover or re-discover the timeless truths about understanding and finding meaning in caring doctor-patient-team relationships."

The at times controversial book includes six bonus articles like "101 things to do In a Spirit of Caring", and many other practical ways to help dental practices optimize a spirit of caring for their patients. It also has links to relevant articles on the In a Spirit of Caring web site.

This makes In a Spirit of Caring Revisited the sourcebook for relationship-based dental practices and those dentists, team members and consultants who want to improve their ability to communicate with their dental patients and clients.

Here is a snip from the introduction:

In a Spirit of Caring Revisited -- Introduction

The 21st century has arrived - seemingly with the speed of light. There have been major changes in dentistry and society in the 21st century.

In the last few years, many people have asked me if I was going to write a new book or rewrite this book. They have asked me if I feel that what I wrote about in the early 1990's still applies as we enter the second decade of the 21st Century.

I have wrestled with what to do. In re-reading this book, I feel that it has stood the test of time well. So, I don't want to change it by rewriting it. Instead of enhancing the content, I think the book would lose its integrity.

But, I think a new e-book edition with comments and reflections by me is appropriate and would update the book well into the 21st century.

Why? When I re-read the book, I thought "Its perennial wisdom about caring is needed more in these troubled, challenging times than when it was published".

(The advances in e-devices like e-readers and applications for Kindles, iPads and their cousins makes it much easier to update this book.)

It will also help new readers discover the timeless truths about understanding and finding meaning in caring doctor-patient relationships explored in the book. Previous readers will re-discover an old friend.

There are new generations (since the book was published in 1994) of dentists looking for a personal and professionally fulfilling way of practicing. 10% of dentists have an aptitude and interest to practice relationship-based dentistry.

This new edition will help new generations decide if a relationship-based way of practicing is for them. (and re-affirm for previous relationship-based generations).

Why choose to create an e-book instead of a print book?

This e-book is much more dynamic and interactive than print. Relevant ISOC articles or resources are inserted in the text. You as the reader and ISOC member, can immediately access these and expand your knowledge. You can also go to the discussion forum to comment or ask questions on what is in the e-book.

In this way, you can read many of the over 500 articles on the ISOC web site.

e-books use fewer natural resources - if not printed.

Amazon reports that it now sells more e-books than print.

An e-book is less expensive and time consuming to create and produce, so the price to you is 58% less than the last print version.

*ISOC members. This new e-book reader version - for Kindle, iPad etc. - has almost the same content as the In a Spirit of Caring Revisited version that has been available on the ISOC web site. The old version on ISOC was clunky to read, so very few ISOC members read it.

The bonus articles are also from ISOC.
