Paul Sletten, BS

Paul discovered several years ago that the sale of a dental practice, adding an associate, or finding someone to cover for a dentist when they are incapacitated is much more than a simple act of signing a contract, finding financing, finding a dentist to buy a practice or do Locum Tenum.

All of the above are life transitions and involve the emotions, hopes, dreams, fears and aspirations of those involved in the transitions - dentists, team members, spouses, family and any others involved in the transition. Paul has dedicated his professional life to helping fee-for-service/Tier IV/relationship based dentists with their dental practice life transitions.

Paul was born and raised in Minnesota where his father was an orthodontist for 46 years. He began his dental consulting career with Professional Economics Bureau of Minneapolis in 1971 after previously spending four years as a consultant with ServiceMaster Hospital Corporation.

He worked with Mr. Jim Trask and other consultants in P.E.B. until the fall of 1974 when he moved to Denver, Colorado to manage the P.E.B.-Denver branch. He purchased the Denver business in October 1975 and has operated Paul Sletten & Associates, Inc. since that time.

He works with fee-for-service general and specialty dentists in 46 states, four provinces of Canada and in Australia. His primary areas of emphasis are life planning and practice transition planning.

He works with dentists who are doing long-range planning for retirement, selling a practice, buying a practice, adding an associate or partner, growing by acquisition, doing crisis coverage planning, merging practices, etc.

All practice transitions involve life transitions for the dentists and teams. He has been involved in over 1,700 dental practice transitions and associate searches. He also does workshops and personal coaching with clients and their teams on the topic of life planning and creating successful personal transitions.

He also tells great Ole and Lena jokes along with long stories about his golf game.
