Mike Schuster, DDS
Mike Schuster graduated from Marquette Dental School in 1966. He spent his first years in dentistry in Dubuque, Iowa. Early in his career, a bleeding ulcer caused him to reevaluate the way he practiced dentistry. He met L.D. Pankey and Bob Barkley at this time. They helped him redefine the way he practiced. He was one of the early cadre members at the Pankey Institute. Through his experiences teaching and listening to other dentists, Mike realized that a tremendous need existed for developing a professional and business model these dentists could apply in everyday practice settings. From his successful practice and years of application of his gained knowledge, the "model" for creating professional fulfillment and ethical economic practice was born. Mike's lifelong desire was to develop a learning organization dedicated to teaching the professional "model" to which he is committed. With this model in mind, he relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. He established a third practice dedicated to quality, patient-centeredness and continued to refine his dream for a learning organization. His personal experience in developing and managing practices pledged to technical excellence, personalized high quality patient service, and profitability inspired him, in 1977, to create The Schuster Center for Professional Development. The Schuster Center continues to help many dentists create the systems that facilitate the development of quality oriented, patient-centered practices. Money, Power, Greed, Corruption in dentistry and society
Mike Schuster, DDS
With the current recession and credit crisis looming, it is enlightening to go deeper and look at human beings relationship with money. Mike Schuster comments on the nature of dentists, human beings and money. "Money, for the many I've met is a drug. The more you make the more you want. Being truthful about money is one of the first tests of maturity and control over our emotions." . . .

The Science of Creating Wealth - a book review
Lynn D Carlisle, DDS
Mike Schuster, DDS has written a must read book to help dentists create wealth. Most dentists, even those with high incomes, struggle with creating wealth. They have expensive cars, live in the best part of town, kids in the right schools, boy toys and girl toys, go to exotic places, often the best of every material thing, but they do not have wealth. . . .

Thoughts to start off the new year by Mike Schuster, DDS
Mike Schuster, DDS
Indeed, I have felt most of my life that I have not lived in 'shoes too small' but rather in 'shoes too large'. There is no way I could fill the shoes of Bob Barkley, L.D. Pankey, F. Harold Wirth or Peter Dawson, but if one does not answer the call, does not step up and step out, then indeed one lives in 'shoes too small'. . . .
