Early praise for In a Spirit of Caring Revisited
The early reviews of In a Spirit of Caring Revisited, Understanding and finding meaning in the doctor/patient relationship in the 21st Century are coming in and they are embarrassingly good. All of the reviewers gave it 5 Stars. See for yourself. Read it. Recommend it. Review it.
Here are some Snips from the reviews: Bob Frazer, DDS
Austin, Texas Dr. Lynn Carlisle's book is an absolute must read for the dentist and team who want to distinguish themselves in today's dentistry by creating a successful, high integrity, significant and joyful practice. Lynn Carlisle reminds us of the timeless relationship based enduring principles of the likes of Dr's L.D. Pankey, Harold Wirth, Bob Barkley, Carl Rogers, and Mr. Avrom King - as well as other pioneers of patient centered care. He vividly recounts his own journey from knowledge filled, but wisdom lacking new graduate to an over trained and under scheduled, dissatisfied, unfulfilled and unhappy clinician.
So, my advice to every dentist who wants more joy, happiness, and success with significance in your life - and the lives of your patients - is to run don't walk to acquire this book

In my travels, speaking and consulting in dentistry - I'm sad to say that this later description still fits a very large percentage of dentists. Through an entertaining style of writing, Lynn shares his own epiphanies as he discovered the higher ground of relationship based care in a way that inspires the reader. So, my advice to every dentist who wants more joy, happiness, and success with significance in your life - and the lives of your patients - is to run don't walk to acquire this book and then read it more than once - preferably with your team. I read the first book shortly after it was published and enjoyed it immensely, however, I enjoyed this one even more!

Midland, Texas I have been practicing "relationship-centered" dentistry for 10 years. After reading this book, I understand this style of practice better than ever. I understand the challenges and gifts of being a relationship-based dentist and know that the challenges and difficulties I've experienced along the way are normal.
Lynn has a way of presenting this material that is really deep, but simple. It helped me see things from a new perspective.

Lynn has a way of presenting this material that is really deep, but simple. It helped me see things from a new perspective. I actually understand the patient's perspective better; how it is for them to be honored, respected and listened to this way. Understanding these concepts has shifted something for me....it has helped me be a better dentist and employer. I highly recommend this book for all dentists, and especially for those interested in this type of practice.

Leon, Iowa Reading Lynn Carlisle's excellent electronic book of his personal journey to establish a model relationship-based dental practice, I reflected on how I might summarize his work to a few words.
Lynn Carlisle has brought his critically important message for the future of dentistry with the advent of the new technology of digital publishing.

Here's what I came up with: Scrupulous honesty, Professionalism, Self-examination, Erudition, Sensitivity, and Communications. Lynn Carlisle has brought his critically important message for the future of dentistry with the advent of the new technology of digital publishing. Any dentist would benefit greatly by purchasing and studying this important work for the benefit of himself and his patients. The additional benefit is experiencing 21st Century technology.

Denver, Co This book is a must read for dentists (or any health care practitioner) at all levels of practice. It gives hope to the newly graduated dentist, guidance to the dentist that is un-fulfilled in his/her current state of practice, and affirmation to those that already practice this way - focusing on the relationship and partnering with the patient in pursuit of their overall well-being.
This book is a must read for dentists (or any health care practitioner) at all levels of practice.

Dr. Carlisle uses the e-book technology really well. When he wants to expand on a subject, a link is provided to a relevant article that can then be immediately accessed through the internet for further study. Thank you Dr. Carlisle for sharing your passion.

Now, after many more years of practicing this way, this revisied edition has far more meaning and has touched me at a very deep level.

I read the first edition when it came out and was mesmerized by how well Lynn was able to capture the essence of the relationship based practice of dentistry. Now, after many more years of practicing this way, this revisied edition has far more meaning and has touched me at a very deep level. Only a dentist who has lived this philosophy could have written this masterpiece. Hopefully, it will be seen as the gold standard for discussion about the relationship based practice of dentistry for years to come.
