Freaked by the financial fiasco?

A new "Recession Navigation" department has been added to ISOC

I have put past articles and resources from ISOC and will be

adding new articles and resources that will help you navigate the

recession of 2008-?.

The articles include nitty gritty articles on what to do,

foundational articles, care for the caregiver articles, financial

articles, books to read and links to recent articles in magazines

and newspapers.

The authors include: Mike Schuster, Bob Frazer, L.D. Pankey,

Harold Wirth, Cliff Katz, Doug Young, Rich Green, Mary Osborne,

Deb Castillo, Carl Rogers, Bill Lockard and others.

Recessions are always scary because when you are in the middle of

them you don't know what will happen. As I write this, the Dow

Jones Industrial Average is bouncing up and down at around $10,670

.00.

I am not a financial futurist or economist, so I make no

predictions about what the future holds. And, I am biting my

tongue about rendering my opinion on our politicians and the mess

they have created. However, I have weathered 5 recessions as a

dentist - 1969-70, 1973-75, 1981-82, 1991, 2001, and now 2008-?.

This experience reminds me of Walt Whitman's comment about

worrying; "I have had much to worry about in my life, most of

which didn't happen".

I was tempted to label the new department "Recession Proof your

Dental Practice", but decided on the more honest "Recession

Navigation - helping you navigate the whitewater of the recession

of 2008-?".

I can't guarantee that your practice will be recession proof

after you read the articles, but I know if applied the articles

will help you navigate the recession.
