Women in dentistry - a new In a Spirit of Caring department
Women in dentistry and In a Spirit of Caring will address the issues and impact that women dentists are having in dentistry. This department is under development. It will include the demographic, psychographic, social, cultural, developmental, psychological, and attitudinal aspects that women face as dentists. Which of these aspects do women share with men and what is unique about women in dentistry? It will look at what research, surveys, individual accounts, controversies, and experts have to say about women in dentistry. The vast majority of research, opinions, and surveys on what makes an outstanding dentist was done by white males on white males. Does this research apply to women? What applies and what does not? Will the feminine replace the masculine?
There are unlimited questions that can be asked. In a Spirit of Caring will encourage discussion, dialog, questions, research and opinions around the aspects and issues of women in dentistry. Will the central theme of the In a Spirit of Caring web site (the importance of creating outstanding dentist-team-patient relationships) stand the test of this scrutiny? Go to: Discussion Forum to discuss this. Go to: Women in Dentistry - a new department to see the department.
Stay tuned. In the meantime, these articles are presented as examples of what is available on the In a Spirit of Caring web site.
